Thanks for all your recommendations! Have read a few. May I recommend, if you like biography, Desert Queen by Janet Wallach. Life of Gertrude Bell - who mapped the Arabian Desert, friend of Lawrence of Arabia & King Faisal.

oooh thanks a lot for that! I'll check it out for sure! I love history like that which doesn't just focus on wars and conflict but mundane tasks such as this! and her connection to King Faisal and Lawrence makes it even more appealing!

What a fabulous pile-of-possibilities! I just finished my first reading of The Secret Garden and absolutely loved it. I hope it holds up for you. I take your mention of Moby Dick and Jane Austin as a nudge for me to attend to those, too. Good options for Big Book Summer. I re-read Great Gatsby last month and wow! I hope to re-read Mrs Dalloway before the year's out. Both shorties are celebrating 100-year old birthdays this year.

Already on my longterm TBR: Daisy Jones & the Six (Reids,) Emma by Austin, Bartleby the Scrivener and Moby Dick (Melville) and something by Christie (I never read mystery). I'm intrigued about The Virginian. I hope you'll tell us your impressions when you finish it.

But I added two of your list to my longterm TBR: Golden Summer (Fortune,) and People We Meet on Vacation (Henry.) I have never read either author and these sort of pop-fiction titles are not my go-to. I'm much more likely to dive into the history books about the French Revolution or Napoleon (Zamoyski.) But I just finished "Good Material" by Dolly Alderton and really loved it. Such good writing craft and use of humor. Thank you for such great inspiration!
